I've been trying to get my hands on Lost Odyssey for the XBOX360 for quite sometime now, however, the store here in Denmark with the lowest prices -- and best chance of actually finding a game you want -- (coolshop.dk)

recently had the "sold-out"-status on the page... when i had just garthered enough money for it.

but then, 3 weeks ago, i found it in my local Gamestop-shop, used, but apparently in good(-enough) condition.

Then i rushed home, to witness a game with the music composed by Nobuo Uematsu, the usual Final Fantasy-music composer. Along with a few people from the usual FF-team, the game though, is made by Mistwalker.

I don't have any previous experience with their games, but i can say that they must've tried making games before!

Anyways;

When i got home, and threw in the game-disc, patiently and excited watching an epic intro!

... ALL OF A SUDDEN, the game seemed to had forgotten what next step should be, but only because i didn't realise i was in control now!

I got shocked when my choices appeared on-screen; Attack, Skills, Spells and Defend, along with 3 more options when pressing Left on the D-pad!

Scared to death what wold happen if i didn't do something soon (in case it was active game-play), i pressed Attack, and got the choice betweena few 7 targets, by whom i was surrounded. I chose the default target, and time began running in slow-motion:

My character, Kaim Argonar, slowly drew his sword backwards, and fiercely struk 3 of the opponents ahead of him!

I sat and watched in excitement thinking: "WOW!! THAT'S AWESOME... again again!"

... I attempted the same options again, only to see he now only felt like murdering a single enemy...

then, once again, "Attack" on "enemy A"... but now... this time, i got surprised to see that my screen went into a extreme pixelation... the sound when it happened sounded like it would blow up my sub-woofer... the controller was dead, my xbox didn't register at anything... in complete despair, and realising the possible cause for this, i quickly shut it off, and tried to start it again... only to be greeted with the... Red, Ring,  of Death!

... i sent my Xbox to microsoft, luckily it was a month within Waranty, and i recieved it less than two weeks later.

Surprised by the fast dilevery, i instantly booted up my xbox, and obivously began Lost Odyssey once again.

i already made it to Disc 3, and i must say i love it!

at times, i can see the FF-peoples' fingers in it, there's alot of Final Fantasy 9, 10 and 12!

If any of you are clueless about what the next game should be for you to buy, and you like RPGs, Lost Odyssey is a must!

and no, it doesn't feel old at all, even though it is about 2-3 years old now!

Have fun everyone!

if you read this, you deserve it Wink

Not much of an actual news update.

I (the writer), have a Twitter-account.

not much is happening there just yet, but for anyone interested just the slightest bit, feel free to Follow martin447 on Twitter.

later on though, we might just make a Twitter-account for all site-admins to use, to keep you updated more easily, instead of having multiple account you have to jump back and forth to repeatedly.

Please be patient, this site will get more attention later on.

Study shows that shooter games sharpens your vision PDF Print E-mail

Recent studies shows that shooting games doesn't damage your eyes, it actually sharpens your vision.

games like the Call of Duty series and Left 4 Dead provide excellent training for what eye doctors call contrast sensitivity, or the ability to notice tiny changes in shades of grey against a uniform background. It's very critical to everyday activities such as night driving and reading and often degrades with age.

Daphne Bavelie, the study's lead researcher, said: "This is not a skill that people were supposed to get better at by training, It was something that we corrected for at the level of the optics of the eye – to get better contrast detection you get glasses or laser surgery. What we found is that even without this correction you can help your brain make better use of whatever information is received from your retina."

during the studies, they compared the result of hardcore action gamers with gamers who prefer less action-packed games, they found that the action buffs were 50% more efficient at detecting contrast. This didn't prove anything though, as it was unknown what the testers' vision-condition were.

after undergoing that experiment, they immediately went on to another, that provided yet more evidence, that shooter games, actually sharpen your eye-sight.

they made 2 non-gamer groups, the first played Call of Duty, and the other a game without any action at all, the experiment lasted 50 hours (not in a single run).

"We found that the people in the first group (CoD) improved by 43 percent, and the other group not at all," Bavelier said. Even better, she noted that "The positive effect remained months, even years after training, indicating long-lasting gains."
